"We're talking about a change in how humanity organizes itself."
- Andreas M. Antonopoulos
Who is the next Mircea Popescu?
I meet people new to bitcoin who buy on coinbase. All these ETFs use coinbase as custodian of their bitcoin. Custody is becoming centralized in one place. If you have been around a while you know that coinbase crashes on high volume. Why would a small holder want to be part of this? They promote shitcoins. This company holds an enormous amount of other people's bitcoin.
Get your coins off all exchanges. Self custody. Holding your own keys is not just for us paranoid crypto anarchists.
It has been so long since I have been on twitter/x that I don't remember much about it. The one thing I thought it was good for was first hand accounts of breaking news stories. Are there any good nostr breaking news accounts (not bitcoin related) that anyone can recommend?
For any of you newbies holding bitcoin on Coinbase, don't get too anxious when you can't access your account during periods of high volume trading. It's sort of a tradition.

They look so sweet and peaceful when they're not eating all of our vegetables.

It started again yesterday. The texts, emails, and telephone calls. "Hey, aren't you into that whole bitcoin thing?" "Should I get in?" I'm tempted to just say no, rather than try to explain it, AGAIN, but that wouldn't be a good ambassador. They will all vanish during the next dump anyway.
Any Start9 experts out there? My server has been running fine for other applications, but bitcoin core, electrs, and LND are continuously clocking and restarting?

So, TD Bank is guilty of money laundering. In their centralized fiat world, the officers and directors have no criminal liability even though the bank affirmatively helped in opening the accounts. Down the road they may arrest the little guy who actually worked with the alleged criminals, but the big guys pay a fine as the cost of doing business, and continue to operate.
Meanwhile two guys who just wrote software sit in jail.
This is justice?

Whenever I'm feeling down and need a little pick me up, I always watch this. It never fails to cheer me up:
I have been using Primal for months on my graphene OS without problems. Last night I repeatedly received "Unable To Post Notes to Nostr. Try Again Later" message. Before you ask- yes. I did check to make sure it wasn't actually posting ๐ I've experienced that too. Now I'm on Amethyst and everything is fine. Anyone have any ideas?
