I hosted a Bitcoin Walk yesterday. One of the guys that showed up was a young guy, seemingly eager to learn about Bitcoin. The kid had a decent understanding of it works, at least for a newcomer. About an hour into the walk, he started asking me questions about how he could find a job in the Bitcoin space. I told him that his time would be better spent learning, coming to meetups, and stacking sats. He didn't seem very happy with my answer... he started asking about shitcoins a bit, and if I had ever thought about starting my own. High-time preference stuff.
This kid seems destined to go down the shitcoinery path... I suppose there's nothing for me to do other than be an example for Bitcoin-only, but it's frustrating. This kid seems like a hustler (in the good way), but I suppose it's all just a part of the process.
