If you don't care to understand bitcoin because you aren't interested in "investing" in it, at least let's learn about the pound Β£πŸ’· and how it works against our interests.
Thank you @calle for such a well considered, thought out and measured response. It certainly has given me a new perspective to consider that the other proponents might say that they've been saying all along, but you said it better. I need to digest this. Specifically the idea that Bitcoin Core had filters, identified that they are not having the effect they wanted, and are now loosening them to step out of the way and revoke their @Samson Mow on #WBD: I recall there being configuration edits being shared online when setting up full nodes on raspberry pis. These were things like configuring memory limits and disabling features during initial block downloads. This is how I imagined core configuration changes would roll out. It would be discovered that users were changing the default configuration and had a compelling reason for it that others also found compelling and this would drive the need to make this change into a default. Thinking out loud, I suppose this is not the same type of change. It isn't "I'm changing the default value", it's "I'm absolving myself from the decision". I tend to sit in the middle, I don't think Core 30 is a systemic disaster, but I do yearn to understand why there is so much conviction to change something that others are crying over while being unable to explain the justification as well as others are able to explain the problems and show how arguments made don't address the concerns. This might be it. View quoted note β†’
