Incredibly bullish on the "nostrification" of chat via MLS. We already have several implementations launched or in the works: @White Noise , @Zapchat, @Keychat, @0xchat ... am I forgetting any? And I'm vibe-coding a Rust TUI using the nostr-mls library that Whitenoise is based on to test out interop. So much of the world revolves around chats: your "DMs" with close friends and family, your group chats, telegram pump and dumps, WhatsApp serves as a defacto way to talk to businesses in many non-US countries, Discord for social circles, Slack and MS Teams for work, "everything" apps in China where you buy your groceries and order an Uber all from one app... But the normie world of chat apps is almost exclusively walled gardens. Bots are either not allowed or at the total mercy of the first party devs. Lots of e2ee is of the "trust me bro" variety. And next-gen UX like sending or requesting money, polls, other interactives within chat are almost all heavily tied to single platforms. Midjourney built an entire unicorn business using Discord as UI. Lots of people use Telegram and Slack bots for serious mission-critical work. But it's a mess and it's not human-centered. The classic nostr reversal is so simple but so powerful: the user brings the private key and therefore owns their identity, access, and data. Everything else blossoms naturally from that starting point. It's going to take some time and a lot of false starts and early rough edges I'm sure (my TUI can't DM Whitenoise yet, it's me, I'm the rough edges), but I'm confident that in the long run we'll look back at walled garden chat apps as a medieval technology akin to blood-letting. We have a chance to build such a better world of chats, bots, and interactive "other stuff" encrypted with transparent and audited mechanisms. Really proud of all the effort that's gone into NIP-EE. It feels like the beginning of something really amazing and I can't wait to be a part of it.

We're going to need some sort of "Prompter's Almanac" that can help us predict the seasons of when LLMs will do their job or not. image

I can't believe @Justin Moon has been at SEC for like seven months and still hasn't shipped negative zaps.
