I love the way this artist (Julia S. Powell) uses color. I recently picked up painting as a hobby, so I have been taking the time to revisit artists who inspire me to stay motivated during the long learning process. Everyone in the US, please take time to call/email your representatives/senators and let them that you do not approve of billionaires abusing the political system for their financial gain.

The US has pretty much turned into a circus. It has been disappointing to realize that so many would rather prioritize their hatred over the wellbeing and longevity of our country. I know our foreign adversaries are on cloud nine right now.

The next 4 yrs in US politics is going to be very interesting. The American public does not have its priorities in order, so the incoming administration is going succeed in dismantling all the institutions and benefits that Americans take for granted.

2025 is really off to a crazy start. I hear about another mass shooting, natural disaster, war, or just general chaos every time I turn on the TV or read the news. I’m trying to stay optimistic, while remaining informed about the world around me, but it’s becoming overwhelming.

The recent events during the US political election continue to show that fear mongering, propaganda, and outright hatred are highly destructive and often end up destroying the perpetrators. No one benefits when politicians intentionally stir up discontent, confusion, and paranoia.

I hope Julian Assange’s release truly revives the conversation about how we can protect freedom of press and whistleblowers. Sometimes holding the government accountable requires exposing its secrets. Individuals deserve to know when their governments are violating human rights or not working in their best interests. Individuals also have the right to confront their governments about those issues and demand change. We have to work hard to ensure that the events surrounding Julian Assange (and Edward Snowden) do not just become a footnote history but actually lead to new policies/laws that protect individuals who speak out their governments. #freepress #freespeech #humanrights #JulianAssange #EdwardSnowden
