I like to plant a seed in people’s (mostly merchants and people selling stuff) minds about bitcoin by simply asking, “do you take bitcoin?”. They’ll say no 100% of the time, but my evil secret plan is, if I ask it enough if I go to one place, and just play the long game, their employee will bring it up and say, “you know I keep getting asked about bitcoin” to their boss. Obviously can’t do that at target, but if I’m like at a mom and pop shop or a flea market But I still think remittance is the easier use case to get people to use bitcoin honestly.

Waiting for someone to pop /rBitcoin’s delusional circlejerk bubble It’s Moderators like to ban people for no reason 🤣 I asked a question about Civil Forfeiture and its potential implications regarding Bitcoin. Sent a message to MODS, nope. Different ideas other than, “when $1million 🤪🤪🤪” aren’t to be had I guess 🚫🙈🙉🙊🙅🏽‍♀️🚱

Remittances are about to be taxed in the United States. Still mind blown that Bitcoin and the general crypto community haven’t paid much attention to this market that would be an ease of adoption. A lot of people from different countries work overseas and send money back home. Most people still depend on using a brick and mortar to receive and send money despite digital availability. On top of the tax, there’s an applied hefty fee remittance places charge.

Australia recognizes Bitcoin as money, which could help it be exempt from capital gains taxes 👀 United States, what’s up? Can I get an update? image

In the end of the day, I’m really happy I’ve been on Noah’s Ark for a long time, but it does pain me to see people drowning when I have a plethora of things on board to help them.

BIP whatever or not, things will change to what groups of people want. The naming stuff is trivial, but it does throw a curveball whenever I talk about it with people trying to understand Bitcoin. Ex: I do taxation work, soon resolution work, and eventually legal. I help people navigate the rules surrounding tax so the IRS isn’t on their case. I have every reason to hate taxes imposed upon people more than the haters outside because I study it and am exposed to it on a daily basis. It’s shitty and I’ve seen firsthand as what it can do to destroy people. A lot of my clients would benefit from adopting Bitcoin, however I’m not technically legally able to talk to them about it. & in the moment that they are genuinely curious and I have a convo with, a young mom, some college kid, grandparents, extremely rich people, homeless people, etc that small part about how you can buy bitcoin referred to as sats automatically disengages them from hearing more. So, I just refer to it as “fractions of a bitcoin” and it helps them understand it.

I read somewhere (last 24 hrs) that “sats” as part of the naming convention to Bitcoin was the result of a community naturally wanting to call it as such. Makes sense to me. However, think about how close that group of people are to the initial source of its founders and developers. Think about its initial culture and the group of behaviors and the decisions made so far that have led to where Bitcoin is today. If we’re waiting or anticipating the next wave of adopters outside of the people closer to its source, institutions, etc, then things will naturally change, just as things have changed today. Heard about the Papa John’s transactions on the news when I was in HS and Bitcoin just clicked. I didn’t need to be orange pilled because I’ve always believed in it. But it doesn’t work that way for millions of people who this currency is for. & they’re the hardest to onboard. The more Bitcoin develops, the farther we get from having “naturally occurring” events for people to discover this on their own. & the more we’ll dive into second hand sources to convince their personal narrative of what this currency should be.

In the end of the day, I’m still stacking sats until people say it ain’t sats or the general population decides to call it what they feel is easy for them 🤷🏽‍♀️

Bits make sense to me cuz 1 byte =8 bits. Before understanding what bitcoin was, that was my personal frame of reference upon hearing “Bitcoin”. Also, isn’t 1 bitcoin divisible to 8 decimal places? BUT I think Bits is more intuitive for people who are new to this space. I just use SATS because I am following whatever accepted general consensus there is with whatever unit everyone wants. It’s like upholding someone’s preferred name, but that’s how I see it. But if everyone said, let’s switch to bits tomorrow, I’d completely forget sats entirely because even I find it confusing 1 Bitcoin = $100k 1000 bits =$1 A bit of a bitcoin. If you wanna stick to the Bitcoin name, maybe the plural form can represent the fractions of Bitcoin. Idk 😂 i feel like our lord and savior Satoshi would want something that works for normies. 😂

Adriana Smith situation is crazy. She is brain dead and pregnant and unable to go off life support due to the strict abortion laws of Georgia. Her family has no say in the matter. How is the state in charge of such a matter? Don’t they understand that the brain, the central powerhouse of a body, would not be able to properly nourish, grow, nurture, a fetus if it isn’t functional? This isn’t a matter of pro choice/pro life, this is a matter of understanding humane and sound practice. Both mother and child are not in good condition.
