Every time I hear an influencer say "gold leads, bitcoin follows" I wait for an explanation of the mechanism but it never comes. What's the rationale or have you just cherry picked a few coincidences?
Why would bitcoin not respond at the same time to money printing - it's the same people with the same info?
Only thing I can think is some kind of strange investment conspiracy to pump gold and then accelerate the gains with a follow up bitcoin play. This seems like a stretch.
(Or maybe it's central banks buying gold just before printing, but that also seems like a stretch and doesn't explain why bitcoin would be so slow to move if we're so clever and know this is happening)
Went to the barber. At the end I handed him ยฃ20 and said "keep the change". Turns out it costs ยฃ21 for a haircut. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Went and sat in my local church (900 years old!) for a few minutes over lunch. Was the only one there. Very peaceful except for the annoying ticking of a clock.
I hate wokeness, vote for my shit policies

I like bitcoin, buy my shitcoin
I want to tax you, surveil you, debase your money, take away your rights. But I hate wokeness, so vote for me if you believe in freedom ๐
Stack confiscatable pieces of paper that claim to represent a metal that doesn't have a fixed supply, nor can be verified or transferred over the internet. Great thesis.
Lol doing so badly at my fiat job now that I have 2 kids
Many situations are a choice between:
1. Guaranteed slow death
2. Small chance of glory but high chance of instant death
Cypherpunks spent decades trying to create a state-free money. Price pumps were never part of the motivation - indeed the most likely personal outcome was prosecution. Think what can be achieved now with millions of real users and 000s of ideological Devs building on the SAME network, regardless of price action.
At some point a lot of sustained new gold supply is coming online. This might coincide with a normie panic that gold is no longer the play, or miners rapidly offloading inventory.
It's weird that Trump is pushing for Greenland in such an obviously hostile way - the global reaction seems really predictable.
If the US really wanted it wouldn't there have been a more strategic approach? E.g. build some diplomatic support, endear themselves to Greenlanders etc.
I think Trump gets too much credit for being a 4D chess player (although not enough credit from some), but this situation does make me think the spectacle is either leverage or a distraction.
Or has Trump actually genuinely lost his mind and accidentally turning all America's allies against it?
Me trying to understand the insane logic of Bitcoin-adjacent conspiracy theorists and then having their point made for them in the process ๐

Jenrick is so slimy. Massive L for Reform.
I've always liked Farage (since his MEP days), but wish Reform were a little more Libertarian. He's a big spender, likes nationalisation, and the party is a bit of a personality cult.
Sadly, it does look like the Tories are finished. I wished they'd recommitted to proper conservative policies and rhetoric but Kemi (she's a good egg) did some dumb stuff like oppose Labour's Winter fuel allowance cut.
Only way forward for Tories would be to radically commit to pro working age policy and Austrian economics. They would still be out of contention for this decade, but at least would have a chance of ultimately being right and leading the UK back to free market economics.
Lol, maybe I'm too brainwashed by the system but the WBD episode with Simon Dixon is comically conspiratorial. Sure, probably lots of shady stuff going on that most people don't know, but the way all these well known historical events, people, and recent headlines tie in together via some omnipotent "they" is a bit much.
Imagine if J Powell comes out as a Bitcoin maxi once his term ends. Not priced in ๐
Pretty ugly situation with Renee Good in Minnesota.
Personally, I wouldn't try drive my huge SUV towards an armed federal agent during a raid. Doesn't make you a "domestic terrorist" though.
Whole thing just seems like a huge fuck up. Tragic.
People who say they don't like billionaires because they have too much power should consider whether they think it's better that the state has a monopoly on power with less forces to challenge them (e.g. move taxes, fund political positions, represent an alternative form of power).
No one talking about Epstein files anymore. Impressive.
