Russell Lamberti is Executive Director and Chief Economist at
Sakeliga, an independent, non-profit business organisation in South Africa.
He leads economic strategy and policy analysis, advancing the group’s mission to restore economic order at scale amid harmful economic policies and state failure. He also heads Sakeliga’s premium funder relations and contributes to various executive functions.
Russell is a UCT School of Economics graduate with over 20 years of experience advising fund managers, professional investors, and corporate boards. He previously held economist and macro-strategy roles at Econometrix, ETM Analytics, and as founder of ETM Macro Advisors.
He co-authored When Money Destroys Nations in 2014, a book about Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation and economic collapse.
He lives in the Cape Winelands.
