Lots of young people at the mall, spending in a way newcomers don’t as they take up jobs left open by immigrants leaving. There’s an odd anxiety about it all. Warmth is missing from smiles. Found families too, but only the apparently wealthy, none middle class. Is it just me?

I think we can do better than allowing company equity dilution. I think it feeds the idea that money can be diluted too.
I think for Muslims, bragging about zakat and where it went should be encouraged - it’s a public benefit after all, much like prayer in jamaah and hajj and declaration of faith. Only the fast is yours to keep with Allah alone as witness, still done better together.
