Bitcoin and Liberty
Generally speaking, other than the use of BTC, what are people's plans for a worldwide economic decline (however that may play out)? In perspective, I was raised during the end of the Child War by older parents who were born into impoverished families during the Depression. I was kind of raised with "yep, embrace the suck and you better have skills of you want to come out on the other side of this okay" world view. But, that doesn't mean I've thought everything through. I'm sure that I haven't. I'm sure that I'm not clever enough to see everything that should be obvious. So, what, if anything, are you all thinking? Obviously, I'm not asking for details. I'm just looking for a conversation and ideas.
I've heard it said that "Bitcoin is Proof of Work. Fiat is Proof of War." Not only do I find this to be brutally true, I (like I think many of us do) think we're likely to see a lot of expansion of the true fiat backing in the coming months and years. But, maybe after this phase of geopolitics slows we'll see a time in which Proof of Work can make the Proof of War fiat undesirable for the majority of the world.
I don't have the tech knowledge to know why this is, but I'm currently eating in a restaurant with severely limited internet signal. Everything is loading incredibly slowly on my phone except Iris. I don't know if this is a feature of how the protocol works, but if it is, it's very impressive.
Remember, my bitcoin friends, that while bitcoin will eventually buy oir freedom from the fiat monetary state, during the transition it might be prudent to own some guns, ammo, potable water and nonparishable food. The power brokers might well be willing to try to take civilization down with them in a bid to retain that power.
The volume of fuckary happening right now is exceeding felt inflation.
It's going a be a little weird being on this platform for awhile. Normally, I prefer to read and listen to people who see and care about the things I do. But I prefer to talk with the people who don't or don't know. So far, everyone I'm following here fall into the first category... So now I have to figure out how to add to the conservation.
I hope nostr gets the attention it deserves. Decentralized communication is likely to be vital in the coming times. I firmly believe that, as the old saying goes "Truth is the first casualty of war" and I believe that the old structures are at war with the people.
