#nostr is so cool. I just received tallow bar soap from @SoapMiner that I bought with sats and it’s the best soap I’ve ever used. I live in a dry climate and my skin is always dry- I thought you could only solve this with lotion but I kinda hate how lotion makes my skin feel. But tallow soap seems to do the trick- leaves my skin smooth without the lotion. Thanks for the soap and appreciate accepting sats. Anyway, have a good day everyone!

#asknostr I had an idea last night about distributed data preparation for AI training. AI models are trained by RLHF with biased individuals, fuck that. Let's distribute this shit, here's an idea: - Plebs host data relays that scrape and process data from Nostr to a standard (read: in-code) Nostr note type - distribute some H100 instances to 'slowly' train a public LLM (leveraging DeepSeekV3's approach to distributed training) - training slowly to agree on model updates: 2 weeks collect new processed data notes, 1 week to train on the new data, grab timestamp from the best timestamp server available (#Bitcoin blockheight), 1 week to distribute new LLM weights. Repeat. This let's plebs focus on data they are knowledgeable about - hopefully get enough coverage for a general LLM - and should give a public AI advocate a shot... No more censored BS LLMs gaslighting us.. let's take this shit back #GM nostr, have a good day and God Bless

Decentralizing Academic research is something that's been stuck in my head ever since I left a research lab I was working in a couple years ago. Like, everything about it is fucked: From the graduate student perspective: - You work crazy hours, for little pay, and no respect - If you have a crazy good idea, your advisor gets the credit and the the University takes the IP - little to no job prospects after graduating, normally is debt From the faculty perspective: - Has to give the University a large cut of grant $$ and first dibs on IP - Has to spend time teaching, managing, finding $$ instead of conducting research Overlaying all this BS are the perverse incentives of government funded research which: - incentivizes back-stabbing, credit-grabbing - disincentivizes collaboration, counter-cultural theories I think there's a P2P way to fund research, leveraging #Nostr and #Bitcoin. Imagine the flow: - Researcher submits proposal, including deliverables, timeline, funding needs - Enthusiasts crowd-source via zaps, npubs who support are linked to any deliverables from the research, increasing reputation - Research results are disseminated to a P2P peer review process, where researchers can offer btc for quality reviews (judged by impartial(ish) LLM judges, or current experts) in a double-blind contract - Once peer-reviewed, peers who reviewed the results are also cryptographically linked to the paper, with their compensation visible, directly linking the reviewers credibility to the quality of their review/the research results IDK or something like that.
