Great topics. Matt seems to agree that inscriptions will continue to be used, so why open another garbage bin with op_return? The signal to bend the knee to spam is wrong, imo.

Wirklich beschäftigt mit den Argumenten hast du dich nicht Markus, schade. Du hast beschlossen es geht um Moral und schaust dir keine Argumente an und ziehst alles ins Lächerliche. Wenns seit 2014 diskutiert wird ist es vielleicht doch kein triviales Thema? Und nein es ist nicht so kritisch wie ein consensus change.
Ordinals die in witness gespeichert habe erwähnt weil argumentiert wurde dass vielleicht bestehende und vorallem neue projekte zu op_return wechseln würden um daten dort zu speichern, was wunschdenken ist wegen 4x fee discount. Auch weil spam manchmal absichtlich zerstörerisch ist wie bei stamps.
Die Aufregung entstand weil anstatt vorzuschlagen dass das limit moderat angehoben wird für L2 use cases, es einfach komplett inkl. konfigurationsmöglichkeit aufgehoben wurde und quasi beschlossen war.

Puh, wenig Insights in die Problematik. Die op_return filter datacarrier und datacarriersize sollen auch entfernt werden, also nicht mehr konfigurierbar. op_return kostet 4x fees daher wird weiter über witness gespamt werden, und noch paar andere Punkte die das Ganze kontrovers machen.

Tbh, I wait for the god candle for a very long time and would celebrate it. But I won't for such a garbage god candle due to a shitcoin reserve. Fuck that.
Man some og bitcoiners really sold their soul and simp for the strategic shitcoin reserve. Rationalizing that it will become 100% bitcoin allocation magically. As far as I know such funds/portfolios whatever are built on %-allocations. If Bitcoin pumps the allocation will get rebalanced (sold) so the %-allocation is like defined.
But even worse than that is that this legitimizes those shitcoins. It muddies the water and Bitcoin becomes indistinguishable from crypto. When those shitcoins do just fine with gov backing, why even keep PoW? If even the most obvious scams are on the same level / importance than Bitcoin, why does it need to be decentralized at all. Nothing matters.
Sadly it's slay your heroes time again.
Don't shit your pants, it will go up again. Not sure when though. Hoping for days but ready for months or even years 🚀
