Looking for an alternative to Raspberry Pi for running various tools (including a bitcoin node, maybe a lightning node, other non bitcoin stuff like home assistant etc). I always hear @N complaining about RPi and it’s closed sourceness. When I first started learning about Bitcoin I set up a node (just to get up running quickly) on Umbrel on a Pi 4 and it’s been running seamlessly since. But I’m a software engineer and can/should do better, but am new to focusing on privacy/security on a lower level. Great time to learn. I don’t live in my home country any more and so don’t have any old computers lying around. Also have limited space, so the size of a raspberry pi is ideal. I might have multiple of these set up to separate concerns. Running in my home LAN (maybe some on wifi, some cable). What are some recommended open source alternatives to RPi? Did Day 1 for myself of #100pushups

I LOVE #coffee. Obsessed. Don't go a day without a few cups. But I wanted to see how I'd feel if I reduced the amount I'm taking in. So for a few weeks I won't drink coffee on Wed, Thu, Fri. Need it for Monday and Tuesday, and weekends should be enjoyed. Today is the first day without it and it's hard. It sucks. Rooibos tea is not cutting it. A bounty-type Q&A note kind would be cool. Say for example, you have a question you really want answered. So much so, that you put up a bounty of sats to the best answer (or best answers). At some point (time limit? ad-hoc?) you select your favorite answer to which the sats get sent. Any suggestions for a secure/encrypted text editor? Or some sort of encrypted container? (on Ubuntu) Use-case: I want to make notes that are encrypted at rest on my computer. Ideally it would be encrypted in memory/swap etc. too but that's probably asking too much. What is the feasibility of running bitcoin nodes on radio. As in, they don’t (only) connect to other nodes via internet connections but also by broadcasted radio signals. I know some radio signals have decent range but I’m not sure on bandwidth and latency and what would be required by the Bitcoin network as-is. My main use-case is for how people could sync nodes in a case where the internet is shut off or censored or excessively priced. Even if for just a local area, with some edge nodes connecting to the internet where available. I don’t know much about radio but it would be really cool if possible - and would be another plan for resilience. (I know there have been projects that send transactions over radio, but I don’t believe they were full nodes) #survival #bitcoin #radio

GM It's been like 15mo since I created my #nostr keys, after which I joined Nostrasia and met many nostriches/bitcoiners since. The Nostr ecosystem has improved SOO MUCH since when I joined. UX and stability of microblogging clients is like 100x better. And there are so many other more tools and ideas around now. Super excited about it all. Just sad I haven't contributed any dev yet! Plenty of time! pv, stay humble, LFG etc.

Just made delicious ramen at home . So amazing. My favorite. 横浜家系. Made my wife a more generic 豚骨 ramen. Accidentally I prepared double portions for each of us!
