🇺🇸 Thomas Massie says Trump is threatening to ruin supporters’ businesses if they fund his campaign. Trump allies pressured Massie’s consultants to quit by warning their other clients would drop them. They also discourage wealthy donors by signaling state power will be used against their businesses through permits and regulatory pressure. Massie says donors are staying silent out of fear. He argues this is how populist, America First voices in the GOP are being crushed — and why figures like Marjorie Taylor Greene walked away from Washington. 🔴
⚔️ Russian foreign intel head: Western experts admit impossibility to block Russia's Oreshnik missile system image Western experts have acknowledged that they lack the military-technical means to block the Russian ballistic missile system Oreshnik, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin said. 💬 "Both experts and military specialists admitted that they lack the technical, military-technical means to block these systems," Naryshkin added. The SVR chief stressed that the reaction in Western military and political circles to the use of the Oreshnik missile system against a military facility in the Lvov region was overwhelming. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said that on the night of January 9, the Russian Armed Forces disabled the Lvov State Aircraft Repair Plant with a strike of an Oreshnik mobile ground-based missile system. The ministry noted that this plant had serviced F-16 and MiG-29 fighter jets donated to Ukraine by the West, and also manufactured attack drones used in strikes against Russian civilian targets.

Palantir Doesn't Hesitate to Kill Against the backdrop of the World Economic Forum in Davos, the speeches of Palantir CEO Alex Karp and BlackRock head Larry Fink went almost unnoticed. Yet the topic was extremely relevant — the role of AI in defense, with an emphasis on Palantir's practical experience working with governments and military departments. 🔻What Did Alex Karp Discuss? ▪️He mentioned Maven, which started as a controversial Pentagon project for automatic drone video analysis. Previously developed by Google, who withdrew from the program due to employees' unwillingness to "make AI for war", Palantir quickly took this lucrative spot. ▪️Today, Maven Smart System is essentially a "digital overlay" on the battlefield. It collects data from satellites, drones, radars, and other data sources, combines them into a unified picture, and helps identify targets faster. ▪️The Pentagon already calls it part of the future "killer cloud" — a network system designed to minimize the time between target detection and strike. ▪️Karp admitted that Maven Smart System is currently being actively tested in the conflict in the so-called Ukraine, with the main challenges being the tasks of "guiding a drone from point A to point B" and "preventing information leakage or interception by Russians". By the way, Palantir with its systems is no longer just an American story: last year, NATO purchased a special version of the program, and Karp himself confirmed that the product was used in Israel's interests. ❗️All of this suggests that technological corporations are becoming inseparable from the state — they are gradually embedding their algorithms into the defense architecture of major alliances, forcing all major operations to be conducted through their platforms. While in the military sphere, the "AI boom" has not yet replaced infantry and means of destruction, it can significantly improve the quality of information collection, analysis, and distribution. In many places, this is already playing a decisive role. #AI #USA

🇬🇧 The Telegraph suggests Brits turn to dark humor and brewing their own alcohol image "First, we need the samogon, the home-brewed alcohol. When the government finally prices the working Briton out of the last pubs in the land – and between minimum pricing and surging business rates and new drink drive laws, they’re well on their way to killing off the entire institution – we shall have to distil our own booze." Note: "Mat" is not "dark obscene humor", it's simply "obscene language". The Telegraph can't even get this right

Trump’s Gaza Board of Peace: Personalized vehicle to enforce new global ‘transactional’ control? Donald Trump’s Board of Peace (BoP) is a playbook to let cash and loyalty overturn international law, speculates Hugh Lovatt, senior policy fellow with the Middle East and North Africa program at the European Council on Foreign Relations. Trump calls the shots 🔴 Trump is permanent chairman, majority shareholder 🔴 Members serve three-year terms; Trump has power to dismiss board members “subject to a veto by a 2/3 majority of member states” 🔴 Votes on budget and “peace initiatives” need simple majority and Trump approval 🔴 Funding is “voluntary,” but Trump may pressure members 🔴 $1 billion buy‑in locks influence to the richest players, with no real term limits 🔴 Smaller, poorer voices get priced out and sidelined image Under Trump sits a CEO and executive board—handpicked by him—to run the day-to-day and control the cash. Among its members are senior US officials and businessmen, including Jared Kushner, founder of Affinity Partners investment firm with close ties to Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds; Marc Rowan, CEO of asset management firm Apollo Global Management; Ajay Banga, president of the World Bank Group. 👉 The BoP has several subsidiaries, including a Gaza Executive Board to push Trump’s 20-point plan, and a 15-member Palestinian National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), led by Ali Shaath. Trump is also setting up a Gaza International Stabilization Force, led by US General Jasper Jeffers, though its mandate to disarm Hamas and other groups remains unclear. ➡️ Two White House veterans, Aryeh Lightstone (fierce supporter of Israel’s settlement agenda) and Josh Gruenbaum, serve as senior BoP advisors. This mix of private cash, murky spending and secretive decisions is a perfect recipe for a “kleptocratic oligarchy,” Lovatt warns.
