“China will pay off the USD liquidity with USD, in return for commodities, and a promise to invoice commodities to China in CNY going forward, and Argentina can then use those CNY to buy Chinese goods (China is the factory of the world) & recycle any excess CNY into gold.”
“China runs a $1.2 trillion annual surplus, mostly in USD...and needs Argentine commodities... so if US won't supply USD liquidity, China will, & then swap it out to CNY denominated.”
Im surprised China is still trying to help Argentina after the BRICS fiasco.

🇬🇧🇪🇸 UK walks away from gold haul over Gibraltar dispute with Spain
Britain has dropped plans to recover up to 10 tons of gold worth an estimated $7.4 billion from a Royal Navy wreck off Gibraltar, believed to be HMS Sussex, which sank in 1694 with 548 crew members while carrying gold intended to secure the Duke of Savoy’s support against France during the Nine Years’ War, The Telegraph reported.
Britain initially backed the salvage effort but later feared damaging relations with Madrid.
Spain opposed the operation and repeatedly challenged salvage crews near Gibraltar. The project eventually collapsed after London refused to extend Gibraltar’s maritime zone and allowed the exploration agreement to expire.
The UK-Spain dispute over Gibraltar is one of Europe's longest territorial conflicts. Gibraltar sits at the entrance to the Mediterranean, just 14 km from Africa, commanding the strategic Strait of Gibraltar.
Britain has held it since 1704; the Treaty of Utrecht ceded it in 1713. Spain has never accepted this and insists on the return of its "lost lands".
🇮🇷 — Senior IRGC commander Mohammad Reza Naqdi:
The IRGC must be prepared to conduct sophisticated operations on enemy territory.
Whenever circumstances require and an order is issued, we must be capable of taking operations into enemy territory and conducting them far from our own soil.
The IRGC has now been tasked with building the readiness and capabilities necessary to carry out such operations when required.

🇨🇳🤝🇧🇷China teams up with Brazil to fight the US in the WTO
Brazil launched a WTO complaint against the United States in July, challenging two sets of tariffs imposed previously. And on 10 August, China formally requested to join the consultations, citing a "substantial commercial interest" in the case.
China argued that the US tariffs could affect Chinese exports as well.
🇺🇸What was the US targeting?
The first set of tariffs is an additional 25% duty linked to an investigation into Brazilian trade practices, including digital services.
The second is a 12.5% tariff tied to an inquiry into forced labour enforcement.
Brazil argues the measures violate WTO commitments and breach the most-favoured-nation principle.
✔️Why China stepped in
For Brazilian officials, Chinese move is "a signal of support" and confirmation that its complaint reached beyond Brazilian interests.
China doesn't view this step only as a gesture of partnership, but as a strategic action. Similar tariff measures could be applied to Chinese goods and alter competitive conditions in the American market.
China has challenged Section 301 of the US Trade Act at the WTO since 2018, arguing it allows the US to impose penalties without multilateral authorisation. The forced labour investigation that produced part of the Brazilian tariff covered 60 economies, including China.
Broken WTO doesn't help much
The US has accepted Brazil's consultation request and hasn't accepted Chinese yet. If no agreement is reached within 60 days, Brazil may request a panel.
But the catch is that the WTO appellate body remains paralysed since 2019, when the US blocked replacements for departing members.
A losing party can appeal to a body that cannot hear cases, leaving rulings unadopted and blocking retaliation. Despite the broken mechanism, China remains committed to upholding the rules of global trade.
The drone attacks/assassination of an LNA official in Libya honestly could have been done by many parties, but the main suspicion should be on three groups -
Iranians/Iranian-aligned cells, destabilizing the oil market that is slated to Europe is logical, puts more pressure on the relationship between the EU and US because, after all, it was the retardness of the American that put the oil markets over the last six months under stress.
Iran has no love for the LNA either, consider that certain actors within the LNA fund elements that oppose Iran in Sudan.
It also could have been Ukrainians, the Ukrainians have no love for the LNA due to their ties with the Russian MOD, and maybe they are currying favor killing off people that the EU would rather not do business with, or they are getting more involved in Africa (already involved with training and funding Anti-Russian elements in Sahel + lended some support to the Sudanese army)
Or, it simply could be that local warlords were given a few toys, butchers of their own people and each other will not stop just because the years go by.

Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, in a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador:
"The Strait of Hormuz will not open until the United States changes its behavior and accepts Iran's conditions.
The United States must end the war, release Iran's blocked funds, and in general, the war must end throughout the region, including Lebanon and Gaza, and other conditions that have been conveyed through intermediaries.
If an agreement is reached between Iran and Oman regarding the passage route in the Strait of Hormuz, this agreement will be separate from the issue of closing the Strait of Hormuz." - Tasneem
In the lat 1980s, the Soviet Union began to consider allowing more Soviet Jews to leave the Soviet Union.
The vast majority of Soviet Jews (~80%) wanted to go to the United States.
So the Jewish State lobbied the US to BAN Soviet Jews from settling in the United States. Israel wanted those Jewish bodies to wage demographic, political & economic war against the Palestinians.
Maybe Israel should be re-named, the anti-Jewish State?

Brazil may not want war, however the US will not settle for anything less than total domination of Latin America with a revived Monroe Doctrine.

Arguably, those horrors are already beginning.

🇦🇪🇸🇩❌🇸🇩 — A Financial Times investigation reveals that the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces seized at least 1.5 tonnes of gold worth roughly $100 million from Sudan’s state refinery and banks during the opening phase of the civil war in April 2023.
The gold was moved through Chad and South Sudan before being flown from Juba to the UAE, allegedly aboard Emirati cargo aircraft.
Dubai remains the main destination for Sudanese gold, including large quantities believed to be smuggled through neighboring countries. Gold production and trafficking have become a critical source of wartime financing, particularly for the RSF.
