It was my dream to be an alpine climber. Then... I had a ground fall where I landed on the ground from 30'.
I struggled to walk for a number of years. But I had yet to do an alpine route. Three years after the fall, I decided to go for it. I pushed through the pain and climbed this glorious 1000' + peak in the alpine. In the picture, You can see my climbing partner hiking up. It was the best climb of my life. Climb went well, but I was limping so bad on the long decent.
Shortly after this, I hung up my shoes and let go of my 15 year obsession with climbing. I was left in chronic pain and with an identity crisis.
My life is now very blessed, and I have found peace. However, I do miss aspects of my old life. This is one of them.
