Why the US Tariffs are Here to Stay - A New Economic Era Most analyst do not understand the reasons behind the tariffs Trump announced today, they just see short term stock market crisis, or tensions between nations, the so called Trade War; the truth is that behind these tariffs there is a giant geopolitical, and economic shift happening. Globalism right now is benefiting China more than any other nation because they have the manufacturing capacity of the world, this has to be reversed, otherwise every other world power will be completely eclipsed and China will become not just a super power, but the world's hegemon like America was once after World War II. The way the Trump Administration has found to either slow down, stop, or diminish the power of a rising China is the enact tariffs on all nations, with an emphasis on China. The objective is to make sure that we will have a multi polar world based on geopolitical areas of influence, America intends to control the whole American continent from Antarctica to the Arctic. That is why suddenly it becomes very important to control Greenland, to make sure Canada takes care of their borders, to make sure Mexico is a partner and not an economic and drug influenced enemy. The Panama canal follows the same logic, and soon we will see more of this pattern. China and Russia seem to be the new era regional powers. For Trump, Lutnick (Commerce Secretary), Scott Bessent (Treasury Sec.), Rubio (Foreign Sec.) and Hegseth (Defense Sec.) this is the new reality they must impose or America 🇺🇸 will face major demotion and no longer be a super power. What should a small investor do in the meantime? Treasuries, gold, stablecoins, and if you know what you are doing select crypto assets or stocks like Bitcoin.

OPEN SOURCE AI WEAKNESS, A CYPHERPUNK RESPONSE: DARK OPENCODE Given how easy is to use someone else’s code via an AI LLM, and how easy it is to copy the features of open source software for closed source applications a cypherpunk response is needed. I propose Dark OpenCode as a way to share the fruit of volunteer coders without source code for AI LLMs to copy. Dark OpenCode gives away the binaries for free, but the code is visible only for contributors, the real members of the community. The IP remains with the community, but the fruits of the work are shared freely with all. Feedback welcome. I do intend to use this idea for future projects that would feed LLMs unfairly to the makers of the code. -cc @ODELL
