Just one-shotted an application to decrypt a weak encryption algo that I can't disclose. GFY.
By weak I mean some disassembly if a win32 application and string searching.
By one-shot, I mean years of knowledge of the application, its memory dumps, the file formats, a single prompt, and a file.
It's an XTEA cipher btw.

For my Alaskan fens - I also heard some rumors the power company warned of multi-day outages during peaks this winter. Any confirmations?
Some good conspiracies about the diesel fuel shortage and pricing. People are concerned about small owner-operator transport and logistics businesses and think it's a grab. Could be, it usually happens during wealth transfers like this.
Honestly though, I'm more concerned about home heating. #2 fuel, aka Diesel, aka Fuel Oil - is also the second most popular source of fuel to heat homes in the US. Most especially rural areas, with the majority of homes below the Mason-Dixon heated by it.
Lots of people are going to be without heat this winter in the US if prices don't come down by late November. Many people might still have a partial tank from last winter to get them by during the transition.
Since were on the topic of backward compatibility. If your app started using Noscrypt in the spring of 2024 it would still be compatible today. Build it, drop it in, continue on.

Vibers don't respect backward compatibility because they don't iterate, they throw away and start over every few hours.

Breaking news. All my bills went up by a lot. In other news, letters came in telling me they are going up by almost 40% more by the end of the year.
Recently my youtube client stopped working with an um, dummy account, used for partial cookie access. I had to do the ol log in and cookie refresh, to find out that all viewing has been blocked due to age verification where Google is asking me to provide a home address and government id (or selfie upload, or credit card...)
Unless y'all got any better ways of seeing YT content I guess they have finally won.
For the record. I attempted to create another account with a phone number I own and I again stopped me at watching literally any video without age verification. Tools like Freetube and NewPipe have very limited usability lately for viewing content directly. I might get lucky for 2-3 loads per day if I juggle some VPN settings around.
I'm open to ideas, books are cool and all, but I already read plenty and touch enough grass. YT is the only form of online content I have access to worth watching.
