The Druids’ four great festivals aligned with the sun’s yearly phases — and November 1 (Samhain) marked the end of summer and the Celtic New Year. Fires on the eve of Samhain (October 31) were lit in honor of Baal to give thanks for the harvest. Kelley notes that the old altar fires were extinguished and rekindled by friction using a sun-symbolic wheel, representing the dying and rebirth of the sun. People took home embers from these “blessed fires” to protect their homes through the year. The same fire traditions were also practiced on May 1 (Beltane or “Baal-fire”), when fires celebrated the sun’s return and summer’s arrival. The connection to Baal appears again in the May Day ritual where a blackened cake piece determined a symbolic “sacrifice” to Baal — later turned into a symbolic leap through the flames for purification. 🎃 How This Connects to Hallowe’en Over time, as Christianity spread, the Baal fire rituals of Samhain merged with the Church’s All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days. What was once fire offered to Baal became candles and bonfires lit for souls of the dead. Thus, Hallowe’en inherited its bonfires, omens, and spirit beliefs from Druidic Baal worship, transformed through centuries into a night of remembrance and supernatural lore.
Ladies If you think your man has eyes for another woman. Gaslight him into thinking she is part of a Mossad honeypot operation. #sarcasm
