I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, that having a homestead, 5+ kids and neighbors you know by name — which used to be the standard for the majority of people in the Western world — has become a mere dream, nothing short of an Utopia, for people my age and younger. What’s especially sad is that people don’t even seem to want to recognize that being the case and keep telling themselves we live in a “developed” society. Or, if they do dare to recognize the fact, they tend to blame “late-stage capitalism” (which is not capitalism — it’s communism; or — an utterly and irredeemably crony capitalism at best) for the situation. Wake up, Neo. Look into the abyss. It’s painful. But there is truth in there.

Now, whenever I see a shooting star, I don’t wish for anything. I choose to be content with my lot, whatever it is.

“Love is the answer. Not reason, not logic, but Love. Love for yourself, love for others, and love for being itself. True, unconditional Love. If you love someone unconditionally you accept them as they are; if you love the underlying ground of being unconditionally, you accept things as they are—including yourself. Loving fully implies forgiving fully, and that’s the hardest thing of them all. Forgiving others. Forgiving God. Forgiving yourself.” ― @Gigi

I could tell you stories and stories about the bad luck I’ve had. But I’m not going to do that. Because who am I to judge what’s “bad” luck? Maybe “bad luck” is what saved me from “absolutely fucking horrendous luck.” Also, “bad luck” is often simply a consequence of bad decisions. Or, it is really “normal luck,” but seems “bad” in contrast to one’s high hopes, goals and expectations. In the end, it’s just “luck.” It is what it is. Since life is suffering, the “luck” often morphs into a “suck.” Deal with it.

"'Cause through the drama I can always depend on my mama And when it seems that I'm hopeless You say the words that can get me back in focus" "I once contemplated suicide And would have tried But when I held that 9 All I could see was my mama's eyes" Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there. Your son, grandson or husband may not be as direct, honest and vulnerable as the late Tupac Shakur was, but consider this: your mere existence may have saved a life or two. Your smile may have given someone close to you that little bit of extra willpower that kept them alive. You truly make the world go round. Thank you.

I would like to invite you all to check out the @SATOSH.EE Loyalty Program. As a bitcoiner, I believe in the power of incentives. This is why the system is set up in a way that if you help me make SATOSH.EE a success, you can also enjoy the fruits of that success. The Satoshee Loyalty Program is set up in a way in which you can not only save sats, but also earn sats. A few of the more interesting (in my personal opinion) features of the Loyalty Program are: - Profit Sharing and Satoshee Jackpot initiatives (to be rolled out once the company becomes profitable) - Satoshee Gift Cards also act as referral links - You can store your loyalty rewards on your account tied to USD (as Loyalty Points) or BTC (as Orange Coins) - You can use it as a free member or purchase a higher tier membership for higher commissions - Any higher tier membership you purchase is yours for life (no recurring costs) - 10% of all sales of the Satoshee Memberships go to the @Open Source Culture Fund As always, any feedback, constructive criticism or advice is more than welcome - leave a comment or shoot me an email: kontext@satosh.ee 🤠 More information about the Loyalty Program can be found on the @SATOSH.EE website or in the note below: View quoted note →

Those of you who are somewhat familiar with my eating habits would know that while I generally avoid refined sugar, I do have a bit of a sweet tooth... Sharing a couple of creations from last week for those interested :) image Pictured above: 1) Greek yoghurt with kiwifruit, mandarins, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, desiccated coconut, Manuka honey, maple syrup and cinnamon Note that according to ayurvedic principles, fruit and nuts should not be mixed. I can confirm that from my personal experience - mixing fruit and nuts will result in the food being much more taxing on the digestive system. It can be a tasty combination though, no doubt: the earthiness of nuts contrasted to the sweet & sour properties of fruit can be as enticing as the contrast between the sweetness of chocolate and the bitterness of coffee... But you have been warned. Definitely would not recommend mixing them in a late night snack. 2) A basic variation: Greek yoghurt with walnuts, honey and cinnamon image Pictured above: 1) Toasted sourdough with coconut oil, Manuka honey, maple syrup, desiccated coconut and cinnamon 2) A basic variation: Toasted sourdough with butter, ghee or coconut oil, honey and cinnamon Hope this serves as a bit of an inspiration 🤠 Also, feel free to share: what sugar-free sweet treats do you like to have? #foodstr #healthstr

Yes, there is such a thing as the sweet release of death. It exists, and you may hope for that, if you wish to do so. But there is also the sweet release of life: a surge of vitality, purpose, love, meaning; finding a place in life and in the world in which you can truly be an individual to the highest of your abilities, while at the same time serving the world — and thereby, God — virtuously, honestly and relentlessly; a state of flow and divine inspiration which merges work and play, joy and suffering. That’s the kind of release I’m hoping for.
