okay i have to say something and i hope it lands the right way because i genuinely mean no hate by this. i've been noticing more ai-generated images in the feed lately. and some of them are really obvious β€” like the perfect cup of coffee with the perfect lighting and the perfect bread on the side that no actual breakfast in real life ever looks like. and i get it, ai tools are accessible, they're fast, and they look good on the surface. but here's my honest take β€” when i see a blurry, slightly overexposed photo of someone's actual coffee on their actual table, that hits way differently than a flawless ai image ever could. because i know that's real. that's someone's actual morning. a little context on ai-generated content, since we're here: ai image tools like midjourney, dall-e, and others are trained on billions of real images made by real photographers and artists β€” often without their consent or credit. so while the output looks original, it's actually built on the work of countless creators who never agreed to it. that's worth knowing before we use it casually. ai has its place. i use it myself for work sometimes. but for a community built on genuine connection and real people sharing real lives, flooding the feed with ai images quietly works against what makes this place special. which is why i'm thinking about starting a campaign around this β€” something that encourages and rewards posting real, original photos and graphics. your actual coffee. your actual view. your actual life. nothing fancy required. just real. would you be interested in something like that? drop a comment, i'd love to know. 🌱

currently horizontal. netflix open. phone on do not disturb. this is what thursday night looks like when you've actually used up every bit of yourself for the week. work, responsibilities, adulting in general β€” all of it. so yeah, the weekend starts early for me tonight and i am not taking any questions. tomorrow's technically a workday but we're talking 1-2 hours max, light stuff, then that's it. weekend mode fully unlocked. if you also give yourself a soft friday β€” you get it. we work hard enough to earn this. 🌱😌 image

one thing i want to be intentional about with every campaign i run β€” transparency. so i built a tracking sheet for the nostr trail campaign and i'm sharing it publicly. every backer's name, the amount they contributed, the date they backed it, and every single expense β€” all logged and visible. no guessing where the funds go. right now the sheet shows the campaign is active, goal is $100, posted july 9, and the only expense logged so far is $1 for a post boost. backer slots are open and waiting. as funds come in, this sheet gets updated in real time. i think this should be a standard for anyone running campaigns here on bchnostr. the community puts trust in you when they back something. the least we can do is show them exactly where every bit of it goes. if you run campaigns too and want to do the same, i'm making this sheet available for only $1. just comment below or send me a message and you can pay directly via bch through my bchpay. it's ready to use, just plug in your own campaign details. and if you want to learn more about the nostr trail campaign itself β€” what it is, how it works, and how you can be part of it β€” the full campaign is just one click away. back it, vote for it, or simply share it to help it reach more people. every bit of support moves us closer to dropping clue #1. 🐾 πŸ‘‡ let's normalize accountability in this space. the community deserves nothing less. 🌱 image

okay so i've been sitting on this idea for a bit and today i finally just launched it. introducing nostr trail 🐾 β€” a scavenger hunt that lives entirely on bchnostr. no art skills needed, no big following, no polished content. just curiosity and a willingness to actually explore the platform. here's how it works: 🐾 twice a week, i drop a clue pointing to something already on bchnostr β€” a post, a profile, something hiding in the community 🐾 you find it, reply with the correct answer and a short note about the hunt 🐾 correct answers get a bch tip β€” first come or split evenly depending on turnout 🐾 bonus: winners are encouraged to tip the original poster whose content held the clue, keeping rewards moving through the community, not just out of it why a scavenger hunt and not just a giveaway? because the goal isn't just to hand out bch. it's to get people actually reading, exploring, and discovering each other's posts. the more people play, the more the whole community gets seen. the campaign goal is $100 to kick things off. once funded, i'll announce the official start date and drop clue #1 right here. want to see the full campaign details or back it up? link below πŸ‘‡ every bit moves us closer to the first clue. 🐾🌱 image

real ones will know this feeling. i've been sitting here trying to figure out how to build a client intake journey automation from scratch. the client has a vision, a clear one actually, and my job is to make it real inside whatever tools and systems we're working with. except i've been staring at this screen for a good while now with absolutely nothing. just me, the blinking cursor, and the very loud silence of not knowing where to start. here's the thing though β€” being a va doesn't mean saying yes to everything exactly as the client described it. part of the job, the real part, is knowing when to speak up. when to say "i hear what you want, and here's what's actually possible with what we have." so instead of forcing something that won't work, i'm building a proper proposal first. mapping out what the system can realistically do, finding the closest version of her vision that actually holds up, and presenting that instead. it's more work upfront. but it saves everyone a bigger headache later. anyway. i'm sharing this here because bchnostr is where i come to be honest, not just to post the wins. today is a "figuring it out" day and that's okay too. back to the screen. wish me luck. 🌱 image

this is my entry for the BeOriginalCreateGoodContent. a real story, no filter. people look at what i do now β€” freelance va, social media manager, working from cafes, setting my own hours β€” and sometimes say "ang swerte mo." and i get it. from the outside it probably looks that way. but they didn't see the version of me that took whatever job was available just to have something. the early mornings. the overtime that didn't show up properly in the paycheck. the roles that had nothing to do with what i actually wanted to do but i took anyway because i needed to. because the bills didn't care about my dream job. i've worked in different industries before landing here. some of it i was good at. some of it i wasn't. some of it i genuinely dreaded waking up to. but every single one of it taught me something β€” about people, about work, about what i actually wanted and what i didn't. the thing nobody tells you is that the path to where you want to be is rarely a straight line. sometimes it looks like saying yes to the wrong job just to keep moving. sometimes it's clocking out late for pay that didn't reflect the hours. sometimes it's just surviving a season until the next door opens. i'm not where i am because i got lucky. i'm here because i kept showing up even when the work wasn't what i wanted yet. so if you're in a job right now that doesn't feel like "it" β€” take it anyway. learn everything you can from it. let it fund the next step. your dream job doesn't disqualify the ones that came before it. those jobs are part of the story too. think. create. share. engage. 🌱 @Skye image

just got my verification on bchnostr and i have to talk about the price for a second. one dollar. one time. that's it. no monthly billing, no subscription to cancel, no wondering if it's worth renewing. just $1 and you're verified. compare that to meta verified which runs $11.99 to $14.99 every single month just to have a checkmark on facebook or instagram. that's potentially $180 a year for a badge. here it's $1. once. and it's yours. how to get it: just make sure your wallet has at least $1 worth of bch and you're good to go. the process is straightforward β€” no long verification forms, no waiting weeks for approval. if you've been on the fence about it, honestly just do it. for $1 there's really nothing to think about. 🌱 image

a few days ago i published a crowdfunding campaign called the balik-saya project β€” a small community initiative to bring food, essentials, and a little bit of joy to the kids of tabing dagat poblacion. there's also a bch onboarding component for their parents, which felt like a natural fit given everything this community has taught me about what bch can do for people who need it most. i'm not here to pressure anyone. i just genuinely believe in what this could do for these kids and their families, even if it starts small. one person has already backed it, and that first show of support meant more than i can say. if you've been thinking about it, now's a good time. if not, sharing the campaign link is just as helpful. whatever you're able to give β€” whether that's bch, a share, or just a kind word β€” it all counts toward something real. campaign link below πŸ‘‡ thank you for being the kind of community that makes projects like this feel possible. i finally did it β€” wrote my first proper blog post here on bchnostr. it's about the six social media apps i deleted this year, one by one, and why bchnostr was the only one that survived. not because it's the prettiest or the most popular, but because it's the first platform in a long time where i stopped posting for an algorithm and started posting for actual people. i also talk about the tipping thing β€” and why the first time someone tipped me bch hit completely differently from a thousand likes ever did. if you've ever felt like you were performing for a system instead of connecting with people, this one's for you. full blog here πŸ‘‡ and if you're new here β€” welcome. no pressure to do anything fast. just show up as yourself. that's kind of the whole point. image
