In the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, TX, the community supported, solar powered radio station was a victim of credit card fraud causing a large charge back this past Spring. Now rather than having funding to offer local musicians to help keep their electricity turned on, they're having to have a 4-Day Telethon starting tomorrow morning.
Let's initiate 48 hrs of a musical Zapathon starting at 6am CST tomorrow. I've created an integrated Nostr/Alby account for tracking and distributing these LN sats.
Direct support can be sent to sunradio@getalby.com and the associated Nostr account can be found under the same Nostr ID. The LIve Broadcast will be available to all who join us in the www.nostrnests.com channel feed, enabling Zaps to their LN wallets.
They have "Matching Donations" throughout the day. Perhaps I can maximize the value contributed by batching LN sat distributions into prepaid Visa cards purchased through The BTC Company and make larger donations when they'll be doubled by sponsoring companies...
OR, use these donated LN sats to create our own Bitcoiner supported "Matching Donation" challenges. Usually those are at least $1K-$3K in USD amounts...
The question IS, will Bicoiners rise to this occasion, seizing the opportunity to vote with their sats. Using this chance to spend, replace, and increase their stack for a good cause.
To help local musicians needing help keeping their AC turned on this time of year, I'm considering simulcasting their feed into a Nostr Nest. I'd like to see how much LN bitcoin the worldwide Bitcoiner community can raise using these tools to track, trace, and distribute financial support to projects like this one.
The potential to test these tools, Orange Pill a large number of no-coiners, and support the artistic community seems worth attempting to set a precedent for other instances of this tool stack being similarly applied.
